Executive Summary
The Anglo-American School Phase IV (AAS IV) involves the construction of
two new extensions to the existing middle and high school buildings of the
Anglo-American School in Sofia and a new Art Center building. The new
construction has two levels. In order to stimulate the creative activity of the
students - an Art Center is designed. The Art Center is a two-story building
with а mezzanine level and a basement.
The main core of the building is a multifunctional hall for training,
performances and conferences.
Heating & Ventilation System
The heating of the Art Center Building is provided by a central boiler
plant with two wood pellet boilers.
The temperature of the heating agent provided for the end consumers is
regulated by a three-way control valve installed before the circulation pump. The
fresh air for the combustion process and ventilation of the boiler room enters
through a fixed wall grille. The heating and ventilation is provided by two air
handling units with heating and cooling section. The heating section is
supplied with a 35% ethylene glycol solution from the heat exchanger in the
boiler room.
Air conditioning System
Air conditioning is established via the two AHUs and their direct
expansion cooling section. The cooling agent R410A is delivered by two VRV
systems, installed on the roof of the building. The VRV units are with cooling
capacities of 48.7kW and 55.4 kW.
