  • EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

MARS Microbiological laboratory is a new building construction located on the territory of the MARS confectionery factory in the Ulyanovsk region. It is a two-story rectangular building, consisting of Administrative and Microbiological zones, and technical premises, located on the second floor. The building hosts also a warehouse for storing laboratory glassware and consumables and an area for waste storage

    Heating and Cooling Systems

The hot water for heating and DHW is provided by a water-to -water heat pump. This water-to-water heat pump allows an utilization of the waste heat produced by the chocolate factory. Backup heat supply is provided by the existing boiler plant located in the plant. Cold water for air conditioning during the summer period is provided also by the heat pump unit. The heating of the building is established by a radiant floor heating system for the premises located on the first floor and water heating units for the technical premises on the second floor. The air conditioning is provided by the four air handling units and local split system units.

    Ventilation systems

The mechanical ventilation of the premises is established via four central air handling units and exhaust ventilation systems. The air is supplied and exhaust through ceiling diffusers. Separate ventilation systems are provided for the “contaminated” and “clean” zones of the building.
